For a few years now I’ve photographed the men’s and women’s Little 500 bike races. I enjoyed shooting this year’s event in black and white. I found it intriguing how stripping away the jersey colors seemed to help highlight the competition and fellowship. There was more of a focus on the riders’ effort and athleticism and less about the team associations.
